Green Business Network
Release date: 15/01/2010
GBN members Cotton Roots, who specialise in producing fair trade uniforms for businesses, have found that manufacturing environmentally and ethically sourced products has paid off in terms of gaining publicity. The business has recently featured in a slot on the BBC's Working Lunch programme.
Susan Waters, managing director, gave up a career in teaching to set up her business and it now employs nine people in the UK. All uniforms manufactured are made from fair trade cotton, and Susan has recently introduced a new system of dying materials using only natural products, such as coffee and tea - all sourced through fair trade of course.
