GBN companies provide massive contribution to local carbon targets

Achievements equal one third of local yearly target

Release date: 12/11/2009

GBN member businesses in Bedfordshire’s energy and fuel savings translated into CO2 savings reached a massive 5268.4 tonnes or a reduction of 0.2% in 2008. This represents a third of the local first year target set by Central Government.

Particularly noteworthy savers are Cardington based meat processors Dawn Cardington, Kempston based seating manufacturers Interfoam, and the Bedford based transport and distribution arm of 3M. GBN is confident that Bedfordshire businesses will continue to make a significant contribution to local targets, particularly with the uptake of help available to cut carbon emissions.
