Grants available to SMEs for investment in fuel and energy reduction equipment or processes

Release date: 01/05/2013

Under the new Grants4Growth scheme funded by the European Union and administrated by Brecklands Council, SMEs in the East of England can apply for grants towards capital investment in equipment or processes that reduce fuel or energy costs.

Grants are available for up to 28% of any capital expenditure, and are capped at a total of £6328.

Applications for grants must go before a panel for approval, and any amount awarded is at their absolute discretion. Any grant must be approved before an order is placed, and potential recipients must obtain three quotes (although the cheapest quote does not have to be the one accepted, provided there is a valid reason).

The scheme is open to all SMEs –broadly speaking those companies with fewer than 250 employees, less than €34 million turnover and no more than a quarter owned by a larger group – in the six counties of the East of England (Beds, Cambs, Herts, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk).

For more information, please email Jane Varley info@gbn-bedfordshire.org.uk or call on 01234 241411. Any leads that GBN passes through to Grants4Growth mean that the Network receives a coffer boosting referral fee, which helps us to continue to operate.
